Editor's Review
Cheaper by the Day has carved out a quirky niche in Lynnwood, WA, as a family-owned discount store since 1992, but opinions about the shopping experience are decidedly mixed. Many customers appreciate the treasure hunt vibe of sifting through bins filled with a vast assortment of items. As Jenna N.K. noted, 'So this store has a lot and I mean a lot of things in bins... super random items from clothes to sodas to holiday things.' However, that excitement can quickly fade as shoppers find themselves navigating through some less-than-desirable items, with many reviews mentioning broken products and a general lack of value.
A recurring theme in customer feedback is the underwhelming quality of goods. Sarah Alhethail gave a stark warning, stating, 'I’d say most things are worth $5 at best.' This suggests that while the thrill of the hunt is real, the actual finds may not always deliver satisfaction. The store also seems to have its share of cleanliness issues, with some unfortunate mentions of unpleasant smells that can tarnish the overall experience. Ann remarked humorously, 'there was a rat that ran across the floor,' which is certainly a red flag.
Ultimately, Cheaper by the Day might be a fun stop for those nearby looking for a unique shopping experience, but it’s wise to keep expectations in check. Don't go out of your way to visit, but if you're in the area and curious, you could stumble upon a hidden gem.

Good discount store but I was in there the other day and there was a rat that ran across the floor. Makes sense it smells like pee in there. Not sure if that would deter other people but I will not be returning 😂
Definitely a hit or miss type of place. Mostly very cheap seasonal items not worth the price, but I did find a cute top and a board game for $3 each. Its worth a visit if you are nearby, but I wouldn't reccomend taking a drive just to go here
I do like shopping here from time to time, but it sucks that their prices have gone up (wednesdays used to be 1.50, now they’re 1.97), also the food is all $5 and a LOT of it is not worth that. Also, the owner has a weird vibe. Last time I went in, h...
